The Secretary General of the Department of Health Robert Watt has confirmed he's now in receipt of his full €294,920 salary.

Mr Watt was given an €80,000 pay rise when he moved from the Department of Public Expenditure to his current role.

After much public controversy, he waived the pay rise until a time when the majority of the economy was back to work.

The Department of Health confirmed this afternoon Mr Watt is now getting his full salary including the pay hike.

It is unclear how long he has been taking full pay.
