The government is to be briefed this week on measures to deal with any potential outbreak of Ebola here.
Defence Minister Simon Coveney last night chaired a meeting of the Government Taskforce on Emergency Planning.
The meeting comes as a nurse in Spain diagnosed with ebola is being treated in hospital in Madrid and Australian health officials confirmed a 57 year old nurse is being tested for the virus.
