The Construction Industry Federation is welcoming Government proposals to allow property developers change plans for apartments, into family homes, without reapplying for planning permission.

The Sunday Business post has obtained documents which indicate the Government is considering the move in a bid to increase the supply of family homes, particularly in Dublin.

CIF Director General, Tom Parlon, says these plans would provide a much needed boost to the housing market.
