Graham Norton has hit back following Michael Parkinson’s criticism of the current generation of chat show hosts.

The veteran broadcaster says it’s “sad” that traditional shows have been replaced by programmes fronted by comics.

But Norton has told the Radio Times his Friday programme is about entertaining an audience, not gaining insight from interviews.
