Former comedian Beppe Grillo, whose anti-establishment party unexpectedly gained a quarter of the vote in Italy's inconclusive elections, has said he wants to renegotiate the terms of their debt.
Grillo has predicted his country's political system has only six months left before it collapses.
The 64-year-old leader of the Five Star Movement said he wants Italy to leave the euro and return to the lira if the debt obligations do not change.
