Guaranteed Irish has announced new appointments to its board of directors and appraisals board.
Viatel's director of sales & marketing Damien McCann is joining the board of the organisation, which supports businesses operating here.
He's been serving in his role in Viatel Ireland since 2016, and has strongly supported broadband and use of technology in rural Ireland.
He's also been heavily involved in funding and developing local rural community hubs for local small business and community enterprise
Damien joins board members from other companies such as KMPG Ireland, Ervia, Dairygold and Matheson.
Meanwhile, Rob Lyons - senior sales & marketing manager at Certification Europe Ltd (CEL) - joins the appraisals board.
The board reviews all applications made by businesses for the Guaranteed Irish licence, and the use of the Guaranteed Irish symbol.
Rob has over 25 years of experience in driving business development within multinationals, SMEs and the public sector.
He'll be joining Caroline Geoghegan of CG Consulting and Jason Crawford Partner at Grant Thornton on the board.
Brid O'Connell, CEO of Guaranteed Irish, said both appointments bring with them "a wealth of professional and personal experiences of working with a variety of Irish-based companies".
