Praveen Halappanavar's solicitor will meet with the head of the HSE inquiry, Professor Sabaratnam Arulkumaran, into his wife's death later.

Ger O'Donnell is expected to make detailed submissions, based on evidence that emerged at last month's inquest into the death of Savita Halappanavar, according to the Irish Independent.

Praveen has decided not to attend the meeting himself.

Savita, 31, died at Galway University Hospital on the 28th October last year after suffering a miscarriage and contracting septicaemia.

The inquest uncovered a litany of systems and communications failures and found that the medical team missed the early signs of blood poisoning that eventually killed the 31 year old dentist.

The inquest also heard how her two requests for a termination were refused on the basis that Ireland was a Catholic country.

The internal report into the death is expected to be published shortly.
