Harper Lee, the author of the classic American Novel 'To Kill a Mockingbird,' which has sold over 40m copies, has announced that she will publish a new novel.
'Go Set a Watchman,' will be a sequel to her previous book, though it was actually completed first.
Lee, 88, who describes it as a "decent effort," believed she had lost the manuscript years ago but recently discovered it.
The novel, set 20 years after 'To Kill a Mockingbird,' will feature an adult Scout as well as her father Atticus Finch.
Lee released a statement about the publication of the novel:
"I was a first-time writer, so I did as I was told. I hadn't realized it [the original book] had survived, so was surprised and delighted when my dear friend and lawyer Tonja Carter discovered it.
"After much thought and hesitation, I shared it with a handful of people I trust and was pleased to hear that they considered it worthy of publication. I am humbled and amazed that this will now be published after all these years."
The book, 304 pages in length, will be published by Harper Collins and have an initial print run of two million copies.
