Taoiseach Simon Harris will once again call for a review of Israel’s trade agreement with the EU at a meeting of the European Council in Brussels today.
Mr Harris has acknowledged there is not majority support in the EU for a review of the Association Agreement with Israel but plans to make the case for change regardless.
He will also engage with other leaders on how UNIFIL troops in Lebanon can be fully protected.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will also present his ‘victory plan’ to EU leaders.
EU leaders will then discuss how to strengthen Ukraine’s energy sector and other critical infrastructure heading into yet another winter.
Migration will also be discussed at a time when several member states are looking to formulate their own responses to the large number of people seeking asylum.
Ahead of the meeting, Mr Harris said he wants a Europe that recognises the benefits of legal migration, while also dealing effectively with irregular migration.
