Residents of a Dublin Direct Provision centre that is due to close next month have been offered temporary accommodation in the city.
Asylum seekers living at Hatch Hall have been told they'll be moved on within weeks - with the centre set to close in mid-July.
As of July 9th, there were 213 people living in the city centre facility, including 41 children.
In a statement this evening, the Department of Justice said 140 people have now been offered temporary accommodation in the city.
A further 38 who have already been granted asylum status are being supported homeless charity by De Paul Ireland.
The Department said the centre was closing due to circumstances out of its control and said it recognised that "this will be an unsettling time for our residents."
It said the Reception & Integration Agency is "proactively engaging with residents to discuss their options in order to minimise disruption."
It is continuing its efforts to find accommodation for the rest of the asylum seekers who will be displaced.
It is believed the building is being sold to a luxury hotel group.
