The hunt is on in Mayo for the owner of an engagement ring found in the bottom of a charity collector’s bucket at the weekend.
The diamond ring was discovered after a fundraising drive in aid of the Mayo Mountain Rescue Group in the town of Westport on Saturday.
A local jeweller’s been given the job of valuing the ring but volunteers say they genuinely want to reunite it with its owner.

They’re not releasing any more details of the ring’s description, so that if the owner comes forward, they’ll be able to identify it themselves.
