The Higher Education Authority has published a new performance-profiling system for third level institutions.

Under the scheme, each institution has its own "radar" graph which gives an instant view of how they measure up in 14 categories.

It looks at the student-academic staff ratio, dropout rates, PhD numbers, international enrolment and the number of mature students.

Lead author Muiris O’Connor is Head of Policy with the HEA.
