Hundreds of new Kilkenny jobs have been created by healthcare company, Abbott, with more to come upon its expansion to Donegal.
Abbott opened a 30,000 square metre facility in County Kilkenny today, creating 800 new jobs.
The company is also set to expand its site in County Donegal, creating a further 200 jobs.
Brian McGee, IDA Regional Enterprise Manager said there is a "wide range" of jobs available with the new facility in the South East.
"They are manufacturing jobs, principally, but of course, with every large manufacturing facility, there's a wide range of roles, not just in terms of operational roles, but also technology roles, automation, obviously, HR and finance and all the other departments that you'd expect in such a large facility will be operating here in Kilkenny," she said.
The Kilkenny facility is part of a €440-million investment in Ireland by the healthcare company.
