Heavy downpour in the northwest and strong winds in coastal areas are expected today.
Met Éireann issued a yellow weather warning for Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo, in effect from 9am today until midnight.
Meteorologist Alan O’Reilly said heavy downfall in the northwest will “vary from location to location”.

“But some heavy downpours are possible, with over 10ml of rainfall throughout the day,” he said.
There has been spot flooding in the northwest, particularly in Donegal, over the past week, with reports of roads and businesses closing.

Met Éireann also warned wind forces will reach level six out of 12 up to 49km per hour. It issued a warning for small craft boats on all Irish coasts from midnight today, July 29th, to 8am tomorrow.
People can expect large branches in motion and difficulty using umbrellas.
