Becoming brighter this afternoon in many places with some sunny spells, but scattered heavy showers continuing and these may well be more frequent in eastern areas.

Showers will become mostly confined to coastal areas of the west and north overnight but possibly the odd one along the east coast also.
Largely dry with clearing skies elsewhere.
Chilly with overnight lows of 2 to 7 degrees Celsius with grass frost and possibly patchy mist or fog.
