A former attorney-general of Mauritius claims a 'hefty' cash reward is needed to try and solve Michaela McAreavey's murder.
The Tyrone school teacher was killed while on honeymoon on the holiday island in 2011.
No one has ever been convicted of the 27-year-old's murder, after two hotel workers were cleared 10 years ago.
Rama Valayden says a fresh look at the case is needed.
"The truth will never emerge unless there is a willingness to appoint the right people, and to start a new reward.
"So that people that know information, that are aware of certain things that have happened, come forward and provide the good police officers with information".
And he says the Tyrone woman's death has never been properly investigated.
"We have a bunch of government officials who are only playing politics with the case.
"They have never wanted, in fact, to find the truth. They have acted sloppily.
"We have not really given any fund to the police, or nominated the right person to do the inquiry".
