For the first time ever an Irish opera company Wide Open Opera are staging a full Irish cast and an 85 member Orchestra at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre.
Wagner’s Tristan and Isolde, an epic 5 hour Opera, has not been performed in Dublin for 50 years. Bringing an ancient Celtic love story to life with deep connections to Ireland. To get you through this Opera marathon, there will be picnic baskets wine and cheese.
Henry McKean went along to rehearsals before Tristan and Isolde kicks off on the 30th of September and the 3rd and 6th of October. Henry also tried to audition as an opera singer and met Conductor Fergus Sheil and Soprano Miriam Murphy.
