Henry McKean is a reporter here on Newstalk.

He grew up in several different countries, with his parents Rosemary and Hamish, and his brothers, James, George and Charlie.

He was born in England, and his family moved to Kuwait before the first Gulf War.

They later moved to Scotland, but Henry has spent most of his life in Ireland, after his family moved here during the Italia ’90 World Cup.

Henry studied Journalism in Griffith College in Dublin and joined Newstalk in 2002 when we were a local station.

He’s won four PPI Awards for his daily features on the Moncrieff show, and in recent years he’s produced television documentaries, which have won critical acclaim both here and in the UK.

Henry lives in Dublin, and in keeping in our theme for the day, he’s young, free and single.

But what are Henry McKean’s Musical Heirlooms? Talking Point went to ask.

Henry's song choices were:

  • The B-52's - Love Shack
  • Maurice Ravel - Boléro
