Heroin worth around €3m has been seized in Dublin.
Gardaí said 22kg of the drug was seized in the Dublin 15 area yesterday following an intelligence-led operation involving Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and Revenue (GNDOCB).
Two men, aged 31 and 41-years-old were arrested at the scene and have been taken to Blanchardstown Garda Station.
GNDOCB head, Detective Chief Superintendent Angela Willis said: "The outcome of cooperation between Revenue and Customs and An Garda Síochána, has resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of heroin from circulation within communities that are suffering the consequences of drug trafficking.”
Revenue said the seizure was made with the cooperation of international agencies.
