The US confectionery giant the Hershey Company is investing in the Irish-based snack brand Fulfil.
Fulfil, which has its headquarters in Dublin and specialises in protein bars, says the US firm is making a minority investment.
The Irish company is now expected to expand beyond the 10 countries - including European countries and Australia - it has launched in since 2016.
Brian O'Sullivan, CEO of Fulfil Holdings, said Hershey's investment is an "exciting milestone" and will help their expansion plans.
He said: “Our objective is to deliver great-tasting, nutritional snacking products to consumers worldwide.
"Over the last 18 months we have built a highly capable management team and have developed an aggressive expansion strategy based on a thorough understanding of our target consumer."
The latest announcement comes a year after AIB made a minority investment in Fulfil.
The Irish snack company has reported revenue of more than €20 million in recent years.
