A security alert raised after a suspicious device was found near Heuston Station in Dublin was a false alarm.

Gardaí had asked the Army to take a look, amid reports it could be an old war bomb. However, it turned out to be a training item used in military exercises.

Luas Red Line services had been delayed as a result of the discovery, but have now resumed operations.

Full Luas Red Line has been reopened following earlier disruption.
