The High Court has dismissed a challenge against the result in the Children's Rights referendum. The court has dismissed a petition taken by a woman trying to overturn the result.
Joanna Jordan had claimed that the outcome had been influenced by the government-issued information booklet which was found to have contained biased language in favour of a Yes vote.
The booklet was delivered to all households, with over 2 million copies delivered by An Post between October 19th and November 6th last year. A further 18,500 copies were sent to public offices, such as libraries.
However the challenge has now been dismissed.
The Supreme Court previously found the government had used public money for the referendum campaign in a manner which was not fair, equal or impartial.
It overturned a High Court ruling last November against challenger Mark McCrystal, but found it was too close to polling day to stop distributing the material.
