A weather warning has been issued in six counties for high temperatures.
The status yellow alert is in place for Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick.
Met Éireann says temperatures will be reach over 27° Celsius here on Thursday afternoon.
The warning is valid from 1.00pm until 7.00pm on Thursday.

Overall, settled and warm weather is forecast for the next few days.
Thursday will be a dry, sunny day but rather breezy.
There will also be a risk of isolated heavy or possibly thundery showers in the southwest.
But it will be warm and close for most areas, with top temperatures between 24 to 28°C.
Thursday night will be mostly dry with just the chance of an isolated shower in the southwest.
It will again be a mild and humid night, with lowest temperatures staying around 13 to 17°.
Friday will be another very warm day with spells of sunshine.
It will be dry in most areas, but there is the potential for some thundery downpours to develop in the west in the afternoon and evening.
Met Éireann says top temperatures will be "well above normal" with highs of 24 to 27°.
Saturday will also be warm with temperatures up to 25° - coolest in the coastal fringes of the west and southwest and warmest in the east.
