Hilary Devey is to front a new three part TV series about the welfare state.

The Dragons’ Den star will run her own 1949 style dole office and benefit claimants will live by the tough rules set back then.

Viewers will see whether the experience changes their attitudes to work, unemployment, and living off the state.
