The match commander on the day of the 1989 Hillsborough disaster is to face a retrial in the UK, facing charges of gross negligence manslaughter of 95 Liverpool fans.
Former chief-superintendent David Duckenfield has always denied the allegation.
A judge at Preston Crown Court today said the 74-year-old will go on trial there in October.
Earlier this year, a jury in Mr Duckenfield's trial failed to reach a verdict.
While the judge told the jury he would accept a majority verdict – provided at least 10 were in agreement - the jurors were ultimately discharged, prompting prosecutors to seek a retrial.
The Hillsborough disaster saw a total of 96 Liverpool fans die following a crush at the Sheffield stadium on April 15th 1989.
It happened during an FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest.
Today, around 10 family members were in court to hear the retrial decision.
It was also relayed to a building in Liverpool where other relatives were watching.
