Holyhead Port will remain closed until January 15th due to damage caused by Storm Darragh.

In a statement issued today, Stena Line confirmed today that all ferry services between Dublin and Holyhead will be suspended until this date.

The ferry company is currently in the process of contacting all affected customers.

A Stena Line spokesperson said they understand the disruption caused by the cancellations and assured customers they are "working hard to offer alternative travel options".

Travellers who have booked a Stena Line Dublin - Holyhead journey from December 20th onwards will be able to transfer their booking free of charge and with no fare difference to a number of other routes.

These routes include: Dublin to Birkenhead (for motorists only), Dublin to Fishguard, Rosslare to Fishguard, Belfast to Cairnryan and Belfast to Liverpool.

Amended bookings can be made on Stena Line's website.

Stena Line apologised "for any inconvenience caused" and thanked customers' for their understanding.

Irish Ferries are also working on accommodating passengers with alternative routes, including a Rosslare - Pembroke sailing.
