A breakthrough has been reached in a row that was holding up a homecoming ceremony for Olympians of Team Ireland.
The Olympic Council of Ireland has released a statement announcing Dublin City Council and Junior Sports Minister Michael Ring have agreed to hold an event in Dublin later this week.
It comes after a dispute over funding held-up the organising of the homecoming.
The team flies home tomorrow, and the athletes will take a short break to see family and recuperate before joining the celebrations.
The homecoming event will be held at the Mansion House on Wednesday at lunchtime.
Members of the public are being asked not to go to the airport today and instead to wait to see the athletes at the homecoming celebration on Dawson Street this Wednesday.
The DAA has said there is no public event at the airport and the athletes will not be exiting the airport through the normal arrival channels.
