John O’Shea says it was an honour and a privilege to help the ‘downtrodden and deprived’ all over the world.
It emerged in the High Court yesterday that the founder of the charity Goal had reached a settlement with the charity.
It followed allegations of bullying but these claims were described by his lawyers as ‘false’ and ‘concocted’.
He is now going to retire as Chief Executive next month.
The board of Goal has paid tribute to his astonishing work over 35 years.
Mr. O’Shea has also thanked donors, aid workers, and governments who had supported his work.
Fran Rooney is a former board member at Goal.
He spoke with Breakfast here on Newstalk.
