It’s Make-A-Wish week at Newstalk!

All week, the station has been fundraising for the charity that helps the dreams come true of children who have experienced serious illness.

One such child is Kian Barnes Abo, who was diagnosed with leukemia at only two-years-old in 2017.

After two-years living in hospital, he was released home to his family and was granted his wish last year.

His mother Sarah joined The Pat Kenny Show to talk about Kian’s wish.

“We always knew that Kian would like to do something related to Disney - Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, all the characters that kept him company when he was in hospital.

“So last summer, finally the time was right; he turned 10 and Make-A-Wish Ireland in connection with Disney and Make-A-Wish UK created an amazing Disney Adventure for the children - The Enchanted Manor.”

A stately hotel was transformed and Sarah described it as an “absolutely magical” experience for the children.

If you wish to donate to Make-A-Wish Ireland to help make other children’s dreams come true, you can do so here.
