€150 million will be pumped into a number of building projects over the next year.
These will include new roads, schools, and making local authority homes more energy efficient, and will create 3000 jobs.
Minister for Public Expenditure Brendan Howlin says the extra funds will be added to the Plan over the next year, and that it is delivering jobs for the Irish people:

That money will be split equally in three parts by replacing or refurbishing 28 schools, the repair and maintenance of 600 kilometres of roads, and a new energy efficiency scheme for local authority homes.
