class="MsoNormal">A warning has been issued to recreational drug users following the deaths of 2 young men in Cork.
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">It is now suspected that the friends may have consumed a brown ecstasy-containing powder which could have been a factor in their deaths.
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">Michael Coleman and Liam Coffey were found dead in Michael’s rented house in Abbey Lane in Kinsale on Sunday morning.
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">Gardaí have confirmed that a product containing MDMA or ecstasy and another substance PMMA may have led to their sudden deaths.
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">That has prompted the Health Service Executive (HSE) to take the unusual step of cautioning drug users against taking a brown powder substance in the Cork area.
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">They are also warning that the risk from drugs is heightened particularly when taken with alcohol.
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">Doctors across the region have been put on alert for symptoms.
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">A separate Garda investigation is continuing which has already resulted in 4 arrests.
