The High Court has imposed a 9 week jail sentence on bankrupt businessman Sean Quinn for contempt of court.
However it’ll be decided this afternoon whether he will begin to serve that sentence today or if a stay will be put on his punishment ahead of an expedited Supreme Court appeal.
The High Court judge told Sean Quinn he’s only himself to blame as she imposed the 9 week term for contempt of court.

However Ms Justice Elizabeth Dunne may yet put a stay on the sentence if his lawyers expedite an appeal to the Supreme Court.
