A Lotto player in Ballymun has picked up a jackpot worth nearly €7 million.
The winning ticket was sold in the Lidl store on the Ballymun Road in the run-up to Saturday’s draw.
The National Lottery has confirmed that the winner has already made contact and will soon visit Lotto HQ to collect their life-changing prize of €6,788,177.
Ballymun Lidl Store Manager Sun Haojun said there is “great excitement” in the area at the news.
“We are absolutely thrilled to share this lifechanging moment with the winner and to have sold the winning ticket in Lidl Ballymun,” he said.
“On behalf of the entire team at Lidl, we want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the lucky winner. Not only is this incredible news for them, but it’s extremely exciting for the whole Ballymun community.”
The Ballymun winner is the fifth person to pick up a Lotto jackpot this year – following in the footsteps of players from Dublin, Louth and Limerick
Just two weeks ago, another person in Dublin 9 picked up a €1 million prize in the Daily Million draw.
