A hunt is on for 2 men wanted for questioning after the horrific death of a young man apparently pushed beneath a bus in Dublin city centre.
Eye-witnesses are being questioned and CCTV footage scrutinised by experts as gardai and bus investigators try to confirm exactly what happened.
Christmas crowds recoiled in horror as the man hurtled towards the bus apparently pushed beneath the wheels.
It happened after a row on the street, as crowds milled through the busy area near Trinity College.
The tragedy unfolded shortly after 5.30pm at the junction of Nassau Street and Dawson Street.
Shoppers said he was 'shoved'
The man died instantly after suffering devastating head injuries and gardai are treating his death as suspicious, after shocked onlookers claimed he was either punched or shoved before falling onto the road directly into the path of the bus.
A tent was set up to conceal the body, as examinations were carried out at the scene and motorists and shoppers diverted away.
Diversions are still in place for motorists this morning.
Dublin Bus and Gardai are continuing their investigations and witnesses are asked to contact Pearse Street Garda Station in Dublin, or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
