class="MsoNormal">Ian Drennan has been named as the new Director of Corporate Enforcement.
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">The Minister for Jobs Richard Bruton made the announcement today.
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">He will take up the position tomorrow and replaces Paul Appleby who held the post since the establishment of the Office back in 2001.
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">Minister Bruton welcomed the appointment of Mr Drennan to the post.
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">“Mr Drennan brings with him a wealth of experience in the areas of advocacy, regulation and enforcement to the role” he said.
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">“I wish him every success in the challenging task ahead” he added.
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">Mr. Drennan was previosuly Chief Executive of the accounting watchdog the Irish Auditing & Accounting Supervisory Authority (IASA).
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">A post he has held for the past 8 years.
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">Minister Bruton also thanked the out-going Director for his contribution over the past 11 years.

class="MsoNormal">“As the first Director, he has contributed significantly to shaping that role and to establishing the compliance and enforcement regime for company law that exists today” he concluded.
