They may be clogging up your Facebook news feed but they are essentially for a good cause.
Today the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association revealed that donations made for the Ice Bucket Challenge in Ireland over the past few weeks have reached a whopping €1 million.

Thousands of Irish people have got behind the challenge to post their videos to social media sites including Newstalk’s Pat Kenny, Dublin’s Lords Mayor Christy Burke and businessman Denis O’Brien.
The organisation is encouraging the Irish public to keep the support going by texting MND to 50300.
