The Swedish furniture giant IKEA is marking 10 years in Ireland.
It says since it opened its first Dublin shop back in 2009, over 30 million visits were made to it.
That is enough to fill Croke Park 365 times.
Research conducted on behalf of the company says 65% of adults surveyed from across Ireland have at least one IKEA product in their home.
It seems Dubliners have a special affinity with the brand - 86% of Dublin homes have at least one product.
And 70% of Irish parents stated that they also have IKEA products in their home.
To mark the milestone, the company has revealed what Irish people buy the most.
Top 10 bestselling products in Ireland over the last five years, based on sales, were:
- KALLAX Shelving Unit 77x147cm
- HEMNES daybed
- MICKE desk
- RIBBA frame
- MALM chest 4 drawer
- KALLAX shelving unit 77x77cm
- MALM dressing table
- MALM chest 6 drawer
- HÖVÅG mattress (medium firm)
- PAX wardrobe
The company says its online sales here have also seen growth.
In less than a year after its launch, online sales reached €17.3m - accounting for nearly 9.5% of total sales in 2018.
Peter Jelkeby is Ireland and UK country retail manager: "We are immensely proud to celebrate 10 years of IKEA in Ireland.
