The mother of a young girl who went missing while on holiday with her family at Disneyland Paris last month said her daughter has made contact with her.
Amber Victoria Palm (17) moved to Co Cavan with her parents and younger brother last March, and disappeared while on the trip to Paris in August.
The family is originally from South Africa and have been desperately trying to make contact with her ever since.
On Lunchtime Live on Friday, her mother Mactalene said she has spoken to her daughter.
"My daughter did come in contact with me on Wednesday evening," she said.
"I was in such a state... I'm so glad she's fine, she's alive, she come in contact with us.
"She did phone me and she got hold of me; she saw the [social media] posts and made contact.
"I'm really grateful for everyone that was spreading the news; my daughter is fine and she made contact.
"She's still in contact with me, we're speaking every minute of the day.
"I'm telling you guys about this and I'm still shaking."
Mactalene said she cried when she saw Amber was trying to contact her.
"I was busy and then I saw the messages and she says, 'Mummy it's me, Amber, I'm trying to get hold of you'.
"I just cried.
"I phoned my husband [and told him] 'Our daughter's trying to get hold [of us], and [he said] 'Why are you phoning me - phone her'", she laughed.
Mactalene said the first thing she asked her daughter is where she was and if she was she safe.
"She said 'Mummy I'm fine, I'm all good'.
"She is in Austria... she's saying it is love; she ran away with a boy.
"She was scared, she didn't know how we would react.
"She says she loves us and misses us dearly, and that she is happy as well."
'We are now video-calling'
Mactalene said she is happy to just speak with her.
"We are now video-calling and I can see her, and it's nice and all that.
"I can't wait until she's back just to hug her and hold her."
Mactalene added that her daughter is planning to return home after they "sort out a few things on this side".
