Senior gardai say they are determined to tackle drug crime on Ireland's streets. The comments came as officers displayed drugs worth €1 million which were seized in Drogheda this week.
Three males have been remanded in custody after being charged as a result of the operation.
Detective Superintendent Stephen Courage of the Garda Drugs Squad says the force is continuing to dismantle drug supply networks.
"We are determined to continue working with communities countrywide to ensure that the scourge of drugs is eliminated from the country’s streets. We know that by targeting the sale and supply of drugs, we are targeting the livelihood of criminals, and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities".
"We will continue to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks, utilising advanced analytical and intelligence methods to facilitate targeted operations, such as seen in Drogheda last weekend" he added.
