A property which was at the centre of a long legal battle has been put up for sale.
Gorse Hill in Killiney, Co Dublin is on the market for an asking price of €8,500,000.
Brian O’Donnell and his wife Mary Patricia fought Bank of Ireland to keep the property, which was also ‘barricaded’ for a time by members of the so-called New Land League.

Bank of Ireland had been pursuing the family for debts in excess of €70m and had been granted a court order to take possession of the house against the wishes of the four adult O’Donnell children, who had been living there up until the beginning of March 2015.

Legal documents were nailed to the property’s gates warning the O'Donnell family that they must leave on March 4th that year.
A legal battle then ensued up to the High Court, where Mr O’Donnell was declared a trespasser.

Receivers took possession of the property in Dublin on April 29th.
The saga ended last October when a Court of Appeal dismissed an appeal by the O'Donnell family.
The house is now being sold jointly by property agents Sherry FitzGerald and Knight Frank.

Standing on elevated terraced gardens extending to two acres, the property – built in 2000 – is a two storey double fronted residence .
It has "uninterrupted views" of Killiney Bay from virtually all sections of the gardens.
