Independent TD Michael Lowry is being sent forward for trial on charges he allegedly filed incorrect tax returns.
The former Fine Gael Minister was asked to attend Thurles District Court in person this afternoon where the book of evidence was served.
He is charged with three counts of knowingly filing incorrect tax returns on October 31st 2003, and one count of knowingly filing an incorrect tax return on August 3rd 2007.
He has been sent forward for trial at the next session of Nenagh Circuit Court.
The Tipperary North TD was not called on to speak at the five minute hearing today, but he nodded when advised by the judge that he had 14 days to furnish details of any alibi evidence he intended to rely on during his trial.
