Independent TD Stephen Donnelly has ruled out joining Shane Ross's new alliance.
The Wicklow defputy says he wishes the alliance well, but has decided he doesn't want to be part of it himself.
The TD had previously ruled out joining the new party being founded by Lucinda Creighton.
Speaking to Lunchtime with Jonathan Healy, Mr Donnelly stated: "I would be interested in doing one of two things, continuing to work as an Independent TD, which is something I've been very proud and honoured to be able to do over the last four years or be part of a new political movement.
"For me, a new political movement would want to be very cohesive, based around progressive social democratic values or be cohesive enough that it can either work effectively in opposition in the next parliament or negotiate and implement a programme for Government."
"As part of exploring that, I had conversations with Shane and others over the last while and having had those conversations, I decided the Independent alliance isn't for me."
