Police in India say six men have been held over the rape of a woman travelling on a bus. 

The attack took place in Punjab province in Northern India and police say the 29-year-old victim was forcibly taken to an unknown location.

The attack comes just weeks after the gang-rape and murder of a student on a bus in New Delhi sparked nationwide protests and global condemnation.
