Airline meals don't enjoy the best reputation (with good cause), but passengers bound for London from Singapore had an even less pleasant meal than they expected late last month.

The plane hit some strong turbulence around halfway through the flight and suddenly dropped around 100 feet. The rapid loss in altitude sent the recently served breakfasts flying, covering the floors, ceilings and unlucky passengers with food and utensils.

Eleven passengers and one crew member suffered minor injuries. The cabin crew lay down blankets along the floor to protect from dampness and broken glass, although most of the plane was near spotless after a serious cleaning effort.

The flight was boarded by paramedics as soon as it landed in London, and passengers were gifted with boxes of chocolate as they entered the airport.
