The inquest is to begin today in Carrick-on-Shannon in Co Leitrim into the death of Dhara Kivlehan.
The Indian native (28) died at Belfast's Victoria Hospital in September 2010, a few days after delivering a baby at Sligo General Hospital.
Ms Kivlehan was originally from India but had been living in Dromahair where she was married to local man, Michael Kivlehan.
A request to have an inquest in the Republic of Ireland was initially refused - however the Attorney General since directed the coroner in Sligo-Leitrim to hold one.
This inquest begins this morning at Carrick-on-Shannon Coroner's Court.
It is expected to sit Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and next Monday before coroner Eamon McGowan.
