An independent inquiry is to be held in the UK into claims a senior Church of England priest abused children.

The accusations centre on the late Robert Waddington, a former Dean of Manchester Cathedral.

The Archbishop of York's office has announced the investigation after claims that David Hope who used to hold that role covered up the allegations.

He strongly denies the allegations.
