Gardai are investigating a post office raid in Co. Kilkenny.

A lone raider carried out the robbery in Kilmoganny yesterday evening at around 5.20pm and escaped with a quantity of cash.

A cashier was threatened with a handgun, but no shots were fired and there were no injuries.

The gunman escaped on foot with the cash.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who were in the Kilmoganny area between 4.30pm and 5.30pm yesterday.
