Investigation after equipment stolen from St John Ambulance in Louth

Gardaí are investigating after equipment was stolen from a St John Ambulance in Drogheda early this morning.

Volunteers made the discovery when they arrived to collect it in the Ballsgrove area to attend a Santa run in Bettystown.

Two medical bags containing life-saving equipment were stolen, while the back door of the ambulance was also badly damaged.

A spokesperson says that the vehicle will be off the road until the equipment is replaced.
