Gardaí are investigating after an armed robbery at a service station in Co Kildare this morning.

A man armed with a shotgun entered the premises on the N7 near Kill at about 7:30am.

He threatened staff before escaping with a small amount of cash in an 08-K-registered grey BMW car.

He was travelling north-bound towards Dublin.

Gardaí say the man was about 5 foot 5 inches tall, and had his face covered with a scarf.

Officers in Naas are investigating and have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
