An investigation's underway after the ceiling of the Apollo theatre in London's West End crashed in during a performance last night - injuring 76 people, ten seriously.
Structural engineers and a district surveyor from Westminster City Council are due to carry out a structural assessment of the building this morning after ornate plaster and masonry fell from the ceiling 40 minutes into a performance of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, last night.
The owner's calling the incident 'shocking and upsetting.'
Fire crews and paramedics treated some of the injured in the nearby Gielgud Theatre before transporting many to hospital in ambulances, police cars and London buses. St Thomas' Hospital treated 39 people in accident and emergency with staff coming in from home to help.
